Food Sovereignty Symposium Strategy Report

In June of 2022 Feed Seven Generations hosted their 1st Annual Food Sovereignty Symposium with the theme of “Keeping the Culture in Agriculture”.

This will be an annual event will a new theme each year rooted in Food Sovereignty and agricultural work. Planning for year 2 is currently in progress. This virtual event held via zoom events on 6/27/22 had 150 registrants of which 88 participated in the day long zoom event. The symposium featured a keynote presentation from 10-11am, which was followed by 2 plenary sessions which featured an Indigenous facilitator and 3-4 presenters who represent the breadth and depth of food Sovereignty work in Indian Country.
